Format of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers
10 teams were taking part in the competition and they were divided into two Groups. Each team in a group played one match with the other in a round-robin format. The top two teams from both groups played in the semi-finals of the Qualifiers.
Sri Lanka and Scotland from Group A, and Ireland and the UAE from Group B made it into the semi-finals. Sri Lanka played the UAE in the first semi-final while Ireland took on Scotland. Sri Lanka and Scotland Women's Teams qualified for the finals and Sri Lanka won the competition. Both the finalists booked their place in the ICC Women T20 world 2024
Top performers in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Qualifiers
Following are the players who took the most wickets and scored the highest number of runs in the competition. Ultimately, the top performers (highest wicket-taker and most run scorer) took their respective countries to the ICC Women's World Cup 2024 due to their stellar performances.
Top Wicket Takers:
- Rachel Slater (SCO-W): Took 11 wickets in 6 innings, with an average of 13.81.
- Nasimana Navaika (VAN-W): Took 10 wickets in 4 innings, with an average of 7.50.
- Kathryn Bryce (SCO-W): Took 9 wickets in 5 innings, with an average of 6.88.

Teams that Advanced for T20 World Cup from Qualifiers
Only teams were missing out on the T20 Women's World Cup 2024 and ten teams were participating in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers earlier this year to book a place in the mega events.
Sri Lanka Women's Team
Due to the Sri Lanka women's team ranking (9th) in the T20 format, they could not make a direct qualification to the mega event. Therefore, they played in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifiers Round. This team remained unbeaten in the competition and also won the finals of the ICC women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Qualifiers beating Scotland in the final.
This way, the Sri Lankan Women's team earned a spot in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Their captain Chamari Athapaththu was brilliant throughout the tournament and scored 226 runs and made sure Sri Lanka plays the Mega event in October 2024.
Scotland Women's Team
The second team that Qualified for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is Scotland. They were in the same group as Sri Lanka and only lost to them in the competition. Rachel Slater and Kathryn Bryce were the top performers for the team as they picked up 11 wickets and 9 wickets respectively in a total of six games for the team in the competition.
Now, Scotland Women's T20 Team will take on the Bangladesh Women's Team in the inaugural match of the ICC women's T20 World Cup 2024 on October 3, 2024.
