Despite being a part of the league for 6 seasons now, Tamil Thalaivas have failed to make an impact and have qualified for playoffs in the recent season 10. They have been among the bottom two teams more than twice. Udaya Kumar coached the team and Sagar Rathee will be the captain of the team in season 11.

Since joining the PKL, Tamil Thalaivas have always had a strong frontline raider, but they often lacked a solid secondary raider. The team had gone through various challenges as they lost Pawan Sehrawat to injury early last season. Ajinkya Pawar and Narender Kandola tried to fill his gap, but they were too predictable in their game and this made it difficult for the team to go deep into the competition.
This season, Tamil Thalaivas made a smart move by signing Tamil Thalaivas team player 2025, Sachin Tanwar who is a consistent and powerful right-raider. They bought him for a record 2.15 crore INR. So, his presence in the raiding department will ease the pressure on Ajinkya.
In defense, the team has retained their core players for the 4th consecutive season. The team will be led by captain Sagar Rathee, the defense is known for its strong ankle holds and aggressive play. Sahil Gulia, M. Abhishek, and Mohit complete the defensive lineup. If they can reduce errors, Tamil Thalaivas will have a tough defense to break through.
Tamil Thalaivas Head Coach:
The Thalaivas have named Udaya Kumar as the head coach and Dharmaraj Cheralathan as the strategy coach for Tamil Thalaivas for the 2024 season. Udaya Kumar has enjoyed considerable success coaching the Indian team with multiple Asian Games gold medals. On the other hand, Dharmaraj Cheralathan who is a Chennai-based mentor will coach the Tamil Thalaivas team player 2025 about strength, stamina, and training.

Tamil Thalaivas Team: Season 5
The Gujarat Giants had a successful debut season, with the teams being divided into two groups based on geographical location. The Giants topped Zone A and proceeded directly to the qualifiers, defeating Bengal twice to reach the finals. However, they lost to Patna Pirates in the final by a margin of 38-55.
Tamil Thalaivas Team: Season 6
Moving onto Season 6, the Gujarat Giants once again topped Zone A and made it to the playoffs after losing only three out of their 22 group-stage matches. Unfortunately, they faced a similar fate as their previous season and lost in the Pro Kabaddi League finals to Bengaluru Bulls in a closely contested match. Parvesh Bhainswal was named the best defender for their side.
Tamil Thalaivas Team: Season 7
In contrast, Season 7 was not kind to the Giants as they had a poor run and failed to qualify for playoffs. They ended up finishing ninth with just seven wins under their belt.
Tamil Thalaivas Team: Season 8
However, things started looking up again for them in Season 8 as they finished fourth in group stages and qualified for eliminators. But their hopes of making it further were dashed when they suffered an embarrassing loss against Bengaluru Bulls in the second eliminator.
Tamil Thalaivas Team: Season 9
However, Season 9 saw Tamil Thalaivas emerge as a potential contender after a slow start in Vivo Pro Kabaddi. The injury sustained by their star raider Pawan Sehrawat during the first match contributed to their poor run and performance initially. But they bounced back and finished as semifinalists thanks to fantastic performances on the mat by their young players who met management's expectations. Sagar and Ajinkya Pawar played exceptional leadership roles while coach Ashan Kumar revived the team after an early collapse and brought out their best abilities.
Tamil Thalaivas Team: Season 10
Last season was not any exception from previous editions of PKL for Tamil Thalaivas as they finished the season in 9th position in the points table. They could only manage to win 9 matches out of 22 league games and lost 13 of them.
Pawan Sherawat's injury was an unbearable loss for the team as he was the captain and most valuable player of the PKL. He used to contribute with his reading and defending skills on the mat. They scored only 51 points throughout their whole season and once again could not make it into the playoffs of the competition.
